In order to facilitate the replacement of test probes, the probes are usually installed in the probe cover. The probe can be inserted directly or screwed into the needle cover, depending on its type. Needle sleeves are available in a variety of tail connections.


Needle cover installation

The use of needle guards ensures a constant installation height and maximum tightness. The needle sleeve with pressure ring has the following two installation methods: either the pressure ring can be used as a fixed limit, or the pressure ring can be pressed into the carrier plate to flexibly adjust the installation height. A special needle sleeve tool can be used, which is convenient and quick.

Types of needle covers

In the field of ICT/FCT, test fixtures mainly use in-line probes. However, in the field of wire harness connector testing, threaded probes are mainly used. The advantage of threaded probes is that the probes do not fall out of the socket to ensure test stability. The knurled socket ensures that the socket is firmly seated in the drilled hole.
